For even greater versatility this water soluble version of Derwent Sketching can be used dry as a conventional sketching pencil or washed over with a paintbrush and water to produce subtle line and wash effects.

Derwent Sketching Water soluble is produced in three wash strengths – Light – HB, Medium – 4B, and Dark – 8B. Together they provide maximum tonal dimension and distance, while allowing the most delicate wash graduations. These water soluble pencils combine well with standard graphite sketching pencils to produce an incredible array of hard and soft lines.
